Brad Marchand pokes fun at more than 10 teams during Panthers’ Stanley Cup dinner party

The Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 on Tuesday night to end the Stanley Cup final in six games. Veteran forward Brad Marchand played a big role in the series win, and wants to have as much of an impact on the celebrations.

When the players went out to the Elbo Room to show off the trophy to fans and Marchand was caught on video taking a shot at this former club, the Boston Bruins, who traded him to Florida at the past deadline. In the footage that has since gone viral, fans can be heard chanting “Thank you, Boston” as a jab at the team for letting Marchand go, with Marchand joining in on the chant while lifting the Stanley Cup.

Marchand was back at it again on Thursday night when he attended a dinner party with many of his Panthers teammates and started posting stories on his Instagram account making sure to thank rival NHL teams for the players they allowed to join the Panthers. He posted one for every non-Panther draft pick, tagging each team in the process.

In the stories, he thanked the Chicago Blackhawks, New Jersey Devils, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames, Columbus Blue Jackets, Winnipeg Jets, Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers, with also a special thanks to waivers.

As Marchand took pictures and posted them on his social media account, tagging rival teams, Matthew Tkachuk posted one of his own, thanking the Bruins. So did Sam Reinhart chiming in, thanking Boston as well.
