Brad Marchand uses Darnell Nurse as a punching bag after the whistle!
The second period of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final got intense and Marchand, once again, went over the line. Watch below:
We knew the sequel was going to be good. After 40 minutes of play in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Florida Panthers are holding on to a 3-2 over the Edmonton Oilers. Defenseman Darnell Nurse has been looking to protect his goalie Stuart Skinner, especially when rats like Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand get too close, and this lead to a weird altercation between the latter and the blue liner.
When Nurse pushed Marchand away after a whistle next to his goalie's net, the Oilers’ defenseman gave the Panthers’ forward a sneaky body shot…
Well, Marchand did not appreciate and went berserk on Nurse, using him as a punching bag with several blows to the body in return.
Watch below:
The sequence didn't get noticed by the referees at least... No one was penalized on the play.
Marchand recorded a goal in the first period of the contest, on the power-play, giving the Cats a 2-1 lead at the time.
What a series this is going to be. You can tell the Panthers want to repeat as champions, and the Oilers do not want to lose two years in a row.
