Brad Marchand with perfect comment on pending postseason!
The Bruins’ pest is right and we couldn’t be happier.

It was a tough outing for the Boston Bruins on Tuesday when they faced the Toronto Maple Leafs in what many fans believe could be a showdown during the postseason. Toronto came out with a convincing 6-4 win, though the Bruins started to get going late in the third period… As you could imagine, forward Brad Marchand got under the Maple Leafs players’ skins and was even handed a misconduct for a rift with opposing captain John Tavares and an official on the ice.
The rivalry is alive and well and could be at the center of the first round of the postseason.
Speaking of which, the Athletic’s Eric Duhatschek believes Marchand found the perfect words to describe what the playoffs are going to look like in the Eastern Conference.
And for once, I believe all fans will agree with Marchand.
“Brad Marchand made a great point, that every playoff team in the East represents a legitimate Stanley Cup contender and that the playoffs are so deep that it’s going to be the equivalent of having to win four Stanley Cup finals to end up in the winner’s circle this year. And that’s actually fair comment.”
The race is tight in the East. Before Friday night’s action, the Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes were both atop their division with 98 points, while the race for the Wild Card spot includes the Bruins, the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning and Pittsburgh Penguins. They will all make the postseason, but the bracket will be final at the end of the calendar. And like Marchand said it best, “it’s going to be the equivalent of having to win four Stanley Cup finals to end up in the winner’s circle this year!”
And fans are the ultimate winners.
