The Ottawa Senators are currently facing a major crisis off the ice, a crisis that many believe is impacting the team's performance on the ice.

This week scandalous rumors erupted on social media regarding the Senators organization and their players, rumors that centered around goaltender Linus Ullmark who is currently on a leave of absence.

Things got so bad in fact that the Senators felt they had to release a statement to squash the rumors.

Now however the players are speaking out and on Saturday it was captain Brady Tkachuk leading the charge. Tkachuk didn't hold back on Saturday when he spoke to the media, using colorful language and a stern tone to express just how disgusted he was at the current situation.

"I'm not gonna lie to you it's pretty fucking bulls***," said Tkachuk. "I don't think anybody is pretty happy about a narrative being spread like that."

Tkachuk was quick to point out that the team welcomed criticism from their fans, but not criticism of this nature.

"I think it's ok for people to critique our on-ice performance but when it gets into family it's pretty fucking bulls***," said Tkachuk.

Tkachuk also expressed his disgust that things had reached a point where the team was even forced to address the matter.

"It's embarrassing that it got to the point that it did," he added. "I could tell you for free I'm not happy about it one bit."

Tkachuk also flatly denied the allegations that are being made on social media, suggesting perhaps that the people behind the lies should face some consequences for their actions.

"It's not true, it's a bulls*** story that's just how it is," said Tkachuk. "Our society and life now people can just say whatever they want and no repercussions and don't really realize who it effects."

Although Tkachuk was clearly angry, he seemed to be more in a state of disbelief than in a state of anger at the situation.

"It's just crazy to bring up a crazy story like that and talk about people's families... I can't really wrap my head around it," he admitted.

Tkachuk's main concern in all of this was focused on his goaltender who is already dealing with personal issues that have forced him to step away from the team.

"Honestly I really feel bad for Linus," said Tkachuk. "The fact that he has to even deal with this and think about.... it's f***ing mind blowing."
