Brayden Schenn clobbers Nikolaj Ehlers on Sunday night!

Brayden Schenn puts the hurt on a very outmatched Nikolaj Ehlers on Sunday night.

You have to give Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers a ton of credit for standing up for himself, but there's no question that he bit off more than he could chew.

Ehlers and the Jets faced off against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday night in what turned out to be an exciting game in spite of the fact that the Blues cruised to a 3-0 win.

Not only did we see Blues defenseman Torey Krug tossed from the game after earning 16 penalty minutes in the first period, but Blues forward Brayden Schenn would absolutely clobber the aforementioned Ehlers in the second.

Ehlers took issue with a painful looking crosscheck from Schenn and returned the favor with a slash before the two men squared off and dropped the gloves. Ehlers may have had a moment of offense in the early going, but the bigger and more experienced Schenn would take over quickly.

Schenn delivered blow after blow to the head of Ehlers before the NHL's officials stepped in between the two men, leaving Ehlers looking unsteady on his skates.

If that wasn't enough to convince you, it looked even worse from the angles available on the St. Louis Blues broadcast.
