Breaking: 19-year-old rookie forward spotted leaving arena in a walking boot.

A young rookie forward may have suffered a serious injury on Monday night.

During their match up against the St. Louis Blues the Philadelphia Flyers lost 19-year-old forward Travis Konecny after he appeared to lose his balance and crashed awkwardly into the boards. Konecny was noticeably shaken up on the play and he would leave the game for observation in the back.

Since the injury a source has informed CSN Philly that the injury is some form of knee and ankle sprain, although the severity of the injury at this time is still a mystery. While general manager Ron Hextall has stated he will provide a more detailed update on Tuesday, Flyers insider Sam Carchiddi claims he spotted Konecny leaving the building in a walking boot.

That's obviously not a good sign for the Flyers who are trying to fend off a Bruins team that is just one point behind them for a playoff spot.
