Washington Capitals forward Nathan Walker is scheduled to make his NHL debut against the Montreal Canadiens and will become the first Australian-national to play in the NHL.

The 23-year-old was the first Australian drafted to the NHL after Washington selected him in the third round, 89th overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft.

History will be made in the NHL as he makes his professional debut on Saturday.

Last season with the Hershey Bears in the AHL, Walker recorded 11 goals and 23 points in 58 games.

Exciting times ahead!
