Breaking: 40 million dollar player has been charged with assault.

One National Football League player is now in very serious trouble with the law. 

According to a breaking news report from TMZ Sports, Oakland Raiders cornerback Sean Smith has officially been charged with felony assault after a vicious attack on his sister's boyfriend that took place 

From TMZ Sports:

Officials say Smith attacked his sister's boyfriend on July 4 -- beat and stomped on his head in Pasadena in the early hours. 

He's been charged with felony assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury.

To make matters worse for Smith, he already has a criminal record after being convicted on a charge of driving under the influence back in 2014, but this charge carries far more severe consequences than the previous one. 

If convicted he could now be facing up to 7 years in prison, a sentence that would surely destroy his NFL career.
