There's no doubt that Connor McDavid is already one of the very best player's in the National Hockey League, and if there was any doubt it was wiped away last night when McDavid walked away with some serious hardware at the NHL awards.
That hardware however may have only driven up the price on his next contract with the Edmonton Oilers and there are now rumors that McDavid is set to earn an absolutely mind-blowing contract from the Oilers organization.
TSN Darren Dreger recently commented on what he's heard, and it's truly staggering.
"There are whispers that it's going to be $14 million for Connor McDavid," said Dreger as per Fanrag's Chris Nichols.
That's $14 million per season, something that would make McDavid the highest earning player in the entire league. While it's a crazy number, and one that will be severely limiting to the Edmonton Oilers, it's hard to argue against giving McDavid the deal.
