We may have an early indicator of the favorite to win the Norris Trophy.

It's been a heated battle this year and there is without a doubt a long list of potential candidates who at the very least deserve consideration for the award. Among the favorites all year have been San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns, Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith, Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman and Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter.

Thankfully, some members of the media are open about whom they vote for an on Tuesday ESPN isider Pierre LeBrun reportedly revealed his first place vote for the Norris. According to TSN's Ian Mendes LeBrun revealed that he gave Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson both his first place vote for the Norris and his third place vote for the Hart.

It's a small sample size of just one man, but LeBrun is an extremely respected journalist in the industry, and this could very well indicate where the award is going.
