Breaking: Another Habs goalie out due to injury!

The injuries are starting to mount for the Montreal Canadiens. Their official Twitter account announced some bad news this morning.

Les Canadiens ont procédé aujourd’hui au rappel d’urgence du gardien Zach Fucale du Rocket de Laval (Al Montoya: blessé - haut du corps).

Canadiens recalled goaltender Zach Fucale (emergency recall) from the Laval Rocket (Al Montoya – upper body injury).

Al Montoya hasn't played since leading the Canadiens to victory over the Winnipeg Jets last weekend. He took a hard slapshot to the mask from Dustin Byfuglien and it's being speculated that this may be the cause of his injury.

Last time Montoya played, he took the full force of a Dustin Byflugien slap shot off the noggin. He's practised plenty since, but you wonder....

His absence means the recall of Zach Fucale, who's put up some decent wins with the Laval Rocket. His numbers aren't impressive, but he has posted 4 wins in 5 games.

It remains to be seen how long Montoya will be out. Meanwhile, Carey Price hit the ice with Stephane Waite for a second straight day before his teammates and appears closer to a return, but he still remains day-to-day with a lower body injury.
