There has been a rash of injuries to players acquired at or near the trade deadline this season, and on Thursday that trend continued. The Tampa Bay Lightning's general manager Steve Yzerman confirmed that the team has lost defenseman Braydon Coburn, acquired in a trade with Philadelphia, will be out for a period of four to six weeks with a lower body injury. To make matters worse the Lightning paid a hefty price for Coburn, a 1st and a 2nd, and a long term injury like this with the playoffs rapidly closing in is not what Yzerman was hoping to get out of the young blue liner. Yzeerman also added that Ondrej Palat will also miss two to three weeks with a lower body injury of his own.
