Time is ticking.

On the heels of reports surfacing that the Detroit Red Wigns are taking offers on RFA Andreas Athanasiou, it's been revealed today that the player has set a timeline for when he will make a decision on where he plays this year.

As we know, he is currently skating with HC Lugano in Switzerland, and is mulling over the option to go back to the NHL, or stay overseas so he can participate in the Olympics.

This gives him a month to make the decision - that being said, the season is already under way, and it will likely get harder and harder for him to play in Detroit as time goes by.

Jacob Trouba famously held out for quite some time before finally signing a deal November 7th, 2016. So it is possible that Athanasiou and Ken Holland come to an agreement, but with the allure of the Olympics hanging over the young forward, it could really go either way.
