Breaking: Auston Matthews agrees to massive 7-figure deal.

Toronto Maple Leafs superstar forward Auston Matthews may still be operating on an entry-level National Hockey League contract but he has just received a huge boost in income off the ice. 

The Scotiabank Hockey Club has announced that they have added the Maple Leafs star center to their team, a move that is obviously part of a massive new endorsement deal for Matthews. 

While we do not know the specific details of the new deal between Scotiabank and Matthews, TSN insider Darren Dreger is reporting that this is a five-year deal worth upwards of seven figures. For those of you bad at math that means this deal is worth a minimum of 1 million dollars. 

While there has always been talk of high-profile players wanting to avoid high-pressure markets like Toronto or even Montreal, this is the kind of benefits you can get when you live up to expectations. 

Certainly a well deserved endorsement for Matthews.
