According to a report from Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald, the Boston Bruins have recalled defenseman Matt Grzelcyk from the Providence Bruins.
The 23-year-old defenseman has played just one game with the Bruins this season, but 14 with the AHL Bruins, collecting four assists along the way. In 70 games with Providence last season the Boston University grad scored six goals and 26 assists for 32 points.
The undersized blue liner is just 5’0” and 175 lbs, but he’s a smooth skater who makes smart decisions with the puck. Look for him to get into the lineup tonight against the New Jersey Devils.
