The Montreal Canadiens have placed defenseman Zach Redmond on waivers, Friday.

Today was the first day from National Hockey League waivers. The blue liner did not practice today.

Fans were awaiting to see if there was any surprises on the inaugural day.

In 16 games with the Habs last season, Redmond amassed five assists.
