Finnish reporter Juha Hiitela announced today that Vancouver Canucks alum Sami Salo has been inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame.

Salo joins fellow inductee and legend Jari Kurri in Finland's hall of fame, with the likes of Teemu Selanne to likely be inducted as well.

The defenseman played 9 seasons for the Canucks - logging 202 points in 566 games. He had a career total 339 points in 878 games split between Vancouver, Ottawa, and Tampa Bay.

Salo was a 9th round pick by the Ottawa Senators in 1996 - the third last pick in the entire draft.
