Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning announced this morning that the team has sent Patrick Wiercioch down to the Utica Comets and in his place, recalled defenseman Philip Holm.
Holm had a rather subpar pre-season, but has reportedly turned things around in the AHL, hence earning the recall. The Swedish defenseman has 10 points in 15 games for Utica, and may get his first taste at NHL action this week.
Wiericioch hadn't played any games while in Vancouver.
