Center player finally admits he refused to be traded to the Leafs

As reported by Sporsnet insider Elliotte Friedman, the 32-year-old center Valtteri Filppula finally admitted that he refused to be traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 1st.

The Tampa Bay Lightning tried to move their former center to Toronto but Filppula decided to stick to his “no-trade” list.

“I don’t have anything against Toronto. They have a good team and a great coach” said Filppula as the Flyers are in Toronto to play the Maple Leaf tonight.

Since he’s with the Flyers, Valterri Filppula scored one goal in three games. Filppula played 62 games this year. He scored 8 goals and registered 27 assists for a total of 35 points.
