"Hamilton police have charged a minor league hockey coach after he allegedly assaulted a 15 year old player during a midget game. The victim’s father, a coach from the opposing team says as a parent, the fight was disgusting to watch." as per CHCH.com. "The Senators coach, identified by the victims father, jumped in and started throwing punches at a 15 year old who had been involved in an exchange with his son. Dan Barrett, whose 15 year old boy is being treated for a sore shoulder, says the situation is “done with as far as I’m concerned, he was arrested and banned from the rink it’s over with.”"
The Rosedale minor hockey association says the man will no longer be a coach and that he has been banned from the arena. The 48 year old has been formally charged with assault.
If you're a hockey parent, or if you're coaching a minor hockey organization, remember that this is just a game, those are just kids, playing.
