Breaking: Dea gets claimed once again after hitting waivers for the second time this season!

It has been quite the roller-coaster ride for young forward Jean-Sebastien Dea this season. And at least now, the ride is heading back to the starting line. 

On Wednesday, the New Jersey Devils, who have claimed Dea off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sept. 28, placed the young forward on the waiver wire. 

The Penguins couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab back the player they were forced to place on there before the season got started. The 24-year-old forward recorded a career-best 50 points in 70 American Hockey League games last year, ranking second to Daniel Sprong on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s scoring list. He also played five games for the Penguins, scoring his first NHL goal against Carolina on Jan. 23. He also scored at least 18 AHL goals in each of the past three seasons.

When Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford guaranteed Daniel Sprong would make the 23-man roster before the season opener, there was really only two spots available and Dea did not make the cut. However, while the Pens probably would have preferred to keep him as a call up option in the minors, and now the Devils have given them back this opportunity. 

In the short time he spent with the Devils, Dea made quite the first impression, scoring a goal on his first game with New Jersey. In all, the 24-year-old took part in 20 contests with the Devils, scoring three goals and five points. 

He is now back in Pittsburgh!
