One National Hockey League franchise is really starting to show it's desperation.

Not only have the Ottawa Senators reportedly put all but two players on the trading block, defenseman Erik Karlsson and forward Matt Stone have been excluded, but now they have also made the first change at the coaching position.

While no one has lost their job, at least not yet, the Ottawa Senators have made a coaching swap and this may be the first sign that their coaching staff is now on very thin ice.

According to a report from TSN, assistant coach Martin Raymond and associate coach Marc Crawford will be swapping roles with Raymond taking over the penalty kill, which was previously being guided by Crawford, and Crawford will be taking over the power play which was previously being leg by Raymond.

The Senators currently rank near the bottom of the league in both categories and this seems like a desperate measure to try and get a little more out of both their special teams units, However should the team continue to trend the way they have since returning from a trip to Europe one has to wonder how long either of these coaches have left.

When you consider what a total collapse this has been for a team that made the conference final last season, it may be that even head coach Guy Boucher isn't safe behind the Senators bench.
