Rust gets a big new deal.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly agreed to a new deal with forward Bryan Rust.
Frank Seravalli is currently reporting that the Penguins have reportedly signed Rust to a new contract that will extend him for the next 6 years. Best of all though, the deal comes in at the relatively reasonable average annual value and salary cap hit of $5.2 million per season
Update: The Penguins have now confirmed the official number at an average annual value and cap hit of $5.125 million per season.
Rust is coming off a 60 game season with the Penguins in which he scored 24 goals and added 34 assists for a total of 58 points, he added an additional 8 points in 7 playoff games with 2 goals and 6 assists for the Penguins in their 7 game series against the New York Rangers.
