The Anaheim Ducks fears have been confirmed.
On Tuesday the team officially announced that star forward Corey Perry would be missing significant time due to "lower-body injury" he suffered on Monday night against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Perry's knee could be seen buckling backwards in the replay of the incident and now head coach Randy Carlyle has listed him as "week to week" following an evaluation by medical staff at the hospital this morning.
Caryle says the team will have a better timeline next week, but this may be due to the fact that there is so much swelling around Perry's injury that doctors aren't sure just how bad it is yet.
We don't expect anymore updates in the next dew days.
