Breaking: DSP grabs Gudas and gives him no choice but to fight despite clean hit (for once!)

Gudas goes boom!

Radko Gudas has quite the reputation in the NHL, and fans and rival players are well aware of it. We can all remember when the Philadelphia Flyers defenseman was handed a 10-game suspension for slashing Winnipeg Jets' Mathieu Perreault back in November of 2017. He had slashed the poor player over the back of the head in the right corner of the Flyers' end. Gudas and Perreault were among the six players battling for the puck along the boards. Perreault knocked Gudas' helmet off and Gudas then responded by tripping the Jets forward and slashing him over the head as he returned his stick to the ice.

Brutal.

However, we have to appreciate when Gudas manages to make clean plays and hits. On Tuesday night, as the Flyers faced the Washington Capitals, the controversial blue liner hit Capitals forward Nic Dowd with a heavy back check and one of his teammates was not happy about it.

Once the hit took place, Caps' Devante Smith-Pelly immediately jumped on Gudas and grabbed him by the back of the neck, unhappy with the hit. While Dowd was left dazed on the ice, we have to say that the hit was clean. For once...

DSP reacted quickly and will probably notice later that he had nothing to fight about with Dubas. Good thing no one got injured and the fight was a quick one as heavy punches were exchanges but the Flyers defender took over and dropped DSP on his back.

It wasn't much of a fight, but you have to admit that Gudas gave a clean hit and got the Flyers on the power-play so... not bad for the guy who is usually to blame when something goes wrong for Philly.
