Breaking: Finally make a move with Gaunce

The Vancouver Canucks have announced that they’ve assigned forward Brendan Gaunce to the AHL’s Utica Comets on a conditioning stint. 

The 23-year-old centre played 57 games for the Canucks last season, registering five assists and 33 penalty minutes. The former first round pick (26th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft injured his shoulder late last season, missing the team’s final 15 games and all of this summer’s training camp and preseason.

Look for the youngster to get at least two games under his belt with the Comets before being called back up to the big club.
