The Ottawa Senators have officially activated forward Bobby Ryan off of the injured reserve. The big winger has missed the team’s past eight games with a broken finger but looks ready to return for Thursday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The 30-year-old Ryan has six assists in eight games so far this season and has looked like his old self following a solid 15 point postseason. This, of course, is welcome news to Sens fans were concerned that his 13 goal, 25 point performance from the 2016-17 regular season indicated a steep decline in his ability.
It will be interesting to see who Ryan lines up with on Thursday night. While he has mostly played alongside Derrick Brassard, he could spend some time with newcomer Matt Duchene.
