Breaking: Finally some good news for Fleury and Vegas

According to a report from the Las Vegas Sun’s Jesse Granger, injured Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has been 100% medically cleared to participate in games and practices with the team.

Vegas GM George McPhee said that he expected Fleury to practice with the team this Wednesday and, barring any setbacks, he should be back between the pipes for the expansion franchise within a week. 

This is of course excellent news for the hard luck Golden Knights. The team has been forced to dress five different goaltenders this season due to injury. In order of succession the team’s netminders have been: Fleury, Malcolm Subban, Oscar Dansk, Maxime Legace and Dylan Ferguson. 

With both Fleury and Subban now back at full health and in the team’s lineup, here’s hoping that the team can get back into contention with the Los Angeles Kings for the Pacific Division lead. 

The Knights have surprised fans and analysts alike by storming out of the gate with an impressive 16-9-1 record and look poised to earn a playoff berth in their inaugural season.
