There are reports that a first round draft pick has terminated his contract with the Kontinental Hockey League.

Flyers beat reporter Dave Isaac is reporting that 22nd overall pick in the 2016 National Hockey League Draft German Rubstov has left his KHL team. Chekhov Vityaz, and  thbe KHL altogether to come to North America where he will join the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Rubstov was picked by the Flyers despite the fact that his name appeared on that of the Russian national team busted for doping by the IIHF earlier in 2016, and this appears to be an indication of his commitment to playing for their NHL club.

Isaac believes that once the dust settles here, Rubstov will be signing with the Flyers.
