The Calgary Flames have announced that they’ve placed forward Lance Bouma and recently acquired defenseman Ryan Murphy on unconditional waivers for the purposes of a contract buy-out.

Bouma’s three-year, $6.6 million contract was set to expire at the conclusion of 2017-18, but due to buy-out rules, he’ll carry a cap hit of roughly $700,000 for the next two seasons.
