Huge trade rumor involving the Flames.

The Calgary Flames were mired in a number of trade rumors involving goaltenders prior to finally settling on a deal that brought Brian Elliott to Calgary.

Unfortunately for the Flames that deal has not gone the way they had hoped and now it sounds like they may be revisiting the possibility of trading for a true number one goaltender in the National Hockey League.

"I still hear they're kicking tires on Marc-Andre Fleury," Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos said on Thursday.

Fleury would likely be more than willing to waive his no-trade-clause to get a chance to be a number one again, something that clearly will not happen again in Pittsburgh as long as Matt Murray stays healthy, the question now becomes how much Pittsburgh will ask for in return.

Last year at the draft the Penguins asked for the Flames first round pick and the price is still likely to be quite high, but the Flames may finally realize that they need reliable goaltending if they are to be competitive.
