The Calgary Flames have reportedly placed forward Marek Hrivik on waivers for the purposes of assigning him to the AHL’s Stockton Heat.

Hrivik has yet to play a game for the Flames since signing with the team as a free-agent this past offseason. With the recent addition of Tanner Glass on the team’s fourth line and with fellow left wingers Kris Versteeg, Matthew Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau all holding down roster spots ahead of Hrivik, his future with the team doesn’t look great.

Having said that, if he can prove himself to be an impact player at the AHL level then anything is possible.
