A quality veteran for the Flames to bring in.

The Calgary Flames may have found a veteran defenseman to add to their line up.

While there has been no official report from the Flames organization, The Fan 960's Dean Molberg, has reported that the organization is on the verge of extending a professional tryout offer to former Arizona Coyote Nicklas Grossman.

Despite going unsigned as a free agent Grossman filled a depth role last season on the Coyotes roster appearing in 54 games albeit in a limited role. The 31 year old has shown a decline since his time in Dallas and Philadelphia so it's unlikely he would take on more than a depth role if here were to sign an NHL contract, but that doesn't mean he's not worth a look.

It remains to be seen if the Flames will sign him following the tryout.
