The Calgary Flames have announced the signing of Glenn Gawdin to a three-year entry-level contract on Thursday afternoon.

The WHL player currently plays for the Swift Current Broncos, posting a remarkable 40 points in only 18 games so far.

Surprisingly, he sits third on the team in points, behind Aleksi Heponiemi and Tyler Steenbergen, who have 48 and 49 points respectively in just as many games. The three players lead the WHL in scoring.

Gawdin was drafted in the 4th round in 2015 by the St. Louis Blues and had since become a free agent.
