Breaking: Flyers place two-time 20 goal scorer on waivers
Will the veteran clear waivers?
HockeyFeed
Today, the Philadelphia Flyers elected to place forward Matt Read onto the waiver wire.
Read struggled to be an offensive contributor to the Flyers after scoring 22 goals in 2013-14. He's scored 11 goals or less in each of his last three seasons, and that clearly won't cut it with the likes of Nolan Patrick and other impressive prospects in the system.
It certainly doesn't help that Read carries a heavy cap hit for such low production.
Don't be surprised if he clears waivers.
