Breaking: Former 1st round pick Logan Stanley traded in blockbuster deal

The Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League have announced that they’ve traded 19-year-old defensman Logan Stanley to the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for five conditional draft picks. 

Stanley recently completed his third season with the Spitfires, which culminated in him winning the Memorial Cup on home ice this past June. The former first round pick (18th overall) of the Winnipeg Jets in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft is a towering defender known more for his physical play than his offensive production. While his 17 points in 35 games last season may not impress, his 6’7”, 225 lb frame certain does. 

The big defender is simply a man amongst boys in the NHL and should he return to the OHL for a final season once Jets training camp is over, look for him to dominate the league as a 20-year-old in 2017-18.
