Doug Armstrong, general manager of the St-Louis Blues, announced today that the team signed forward Scottie Upshall to a one year contract. Upshall joined the Blues on a professionnal tryout agreement, after being released of his tryout with the Vancouver Canucks earlier this week. St-Louis needed some help in their lineup with the season ending injury of Robby Fabri and the possible long term injury of Alex Steen.

Upshall, 33, was drafted sixth overall by the Nashville Predators in 2003. He played the last two season with the Blues, registering 32 points in 143 games. Over his 14 NHL seasons, Upshall registered 266 points in 696 total games. He added 13 points in 54 playoff games.
