Nashville Predators inks defenseman to a one-year contract.
Former Ducks inks contract with Playoffs rival
As per the Nashville Predators official twitter account, the Preds ink defenseman Andrew O'Brien to a one-year, two-way contract. Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Wednesday that the club has signed defenseman Andrew O'Brien to a one-year, two-way contract for 2017-18 worth $650,000 at the NHL level and $62,500 at the AHL level.
O'Brien is a former Ducks which makes it funny. He's a former 4th round pick (108) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He never played a single game in the NHL though.
Scouting report found on Hockey's Future describe the 6ft4, 197 pounds defenseman as "a rugged blueliner who does not back down from a challenge and has the size to back that up. He is a hard-nosed and punishing player with some offensive ability. He needs to continue to polish his play in his own end, pick his spots better, and most importantly, improve his skating."
