The New York Rangers did not get the test results they wanted on Monday morning.

The team officially confirmed that former first round pick Kevin Hayes would be sidelined for significant time on Monday after an MRI taken earlier in the day revealed that Hayes had in fact been seriously injured.

It's still unclear at this time exactly what is ailing Hayes, but the Rangers did announce that he would be sidelined for two to three weeks with what they are calling a "lower-body injury."

Hayes has been a massive part of the Rangers offense this season accounting for 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 47 games, on pace for arguably the best season of his NHL career, his absence is a huge loss for the organization.
