The Calgary Flames announced that Brian McGrattan has joined the team's player development staff in the role of player assistance. The former Flame will  work with all team prospects and the NHL club to provide support and guidance both with their off-ice and on-ice development.


A resident of Calgary, McGrattan played 317 games in the NHL over 10 seasons. He was drafted in the fourt round selection by the Los Angeles Kings in 1999. He joined the Flames for the first time as a free agent in 2009 and rejoined Calgary again in a trade with the Nashville Predators in the 2012-13 campaign. 

He played 137 games in Calgary including the 2013-14 season in which he set career highs in games played (76), goals (4), assists (4) and points (8) while accumulating 100 penalty minutes.
