KHL team Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg has announced that they have signed two-time Stanley Cup champion Dwight King to a two-year contract.

The 28-year-old former Los Angeles Kings and Montreal Canadiens forward has had a tremendous fall from grace given that he was such an instrumental part of the Kings’ two Stanley Cup wins in 2012 and 2014. He never did match his career high of 15 goals and 30 points from the 2013-14 season, scoring just one goal with the Canadiens last season after being shipped there from the Kings at the NHL Trade Deadline.

While an NHL return isn’t out of the realm of possibility for King, he’ll be 30 when his deal with Avtomobilist expires and he was never the quickest skater to begin with, so two years in Russia likely won’t help him in that respect. This is likely the last we’ll see of Dwight King in the NHL.
