Maybe it shouldn't come as a shock, but something about a team with so much top tier talent making the decision to start back at square run came as a major surprise nonetheless.

According to report from Penguins reporter Michael Pityk one National Hockey League scout has informed him that the Edmonton Oilers may have very little faith in their current roster, and for that reason are considering completely reshapping the franchise in the offseason.

"Edmonton is considering totally blowing up team over the offseason, only untouchables are the top 2 centers Connor McDaivd and Leon Draisatl."

For some context, this comment would essentially mean that players like Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and many others could all be made available come the summer, and NHL fans could be in for an extremely exciting and extremely active offseason. For fans of the Oilers it could mean that things will continue to be bad for a while longer before they get good.
