More signs that not all is well behind the scenes for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Penguins have been the target of multiple rumors this season, rumors that suggest personality clashes behind the scenes have led to friction within the team. From reports that Evgeni Malkin or Sidney Crosby were both on the trading block, to rumors of a clash between Crosby and NHL Legend/Team owner Mario Lemieux, it's been nothing but negative talk around Pittsburgh.

Now there are signs of friction between the teams general manager Jim Rutherford and head coach Mike Johnston, and Rutherford has made public comments that will only add fuel to that fire. Rutherford spoke to Josh Yohe of DK Pittsburgh Sports and expressed his displeasure at the decisions of his head coach, specifically when it comes to young Daniel Sprong.

"I have been urging the coach to get him in there," said Rutherford. "We need him in there so we can get a better look at him."

Sprong has been a healthy scratch for several games now, and the Penguins and by extensions Rutherford made the decision to keep him on the roster this year, burning a contract year, and naturally expect to see him play.

"Yes. I do want to see that. That's why we kept him, to play him," Rutherford added.

It's clear that not all is well in Pittsburgh.
