Breaking: Golden Knights go too far, forced to issue apology
KeyStone Press

The Vegas Golden Knights have laid claim to funniest NHL Twitter account - but Sunday night, they went too far with their "humor."

They thought it would be fun to parody the movie "Ted", a film about a talking bear voiced by Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane. The tweets have since been deleted, but they were condemned for their sexist undertones by the majority of people who had seen them.

You can view a version of what they wrote here.

It was rather questionable that the best way an official Twitter account could trash talk a team in this day and age was by comparing them to women. Aren't we above that by now?

USA Post received a written apology from the Golden Knights' organization:

"Before Sunday's game against the Boston Bruins, we issued a series of tweets quoting a Boston-based movie with a bear as its main character that were in poor taste," the Knights said in an email to USA TODAY Sports. "By no means were the tweets intended to disparage females or female hockey players in any way. We do not condone sexism in any form and fully support the inclusive culture of hockey that makes our sport great. We accept full responsibility for our actions and apologize to those who were offended."
