Breaking: Government reportedly preventing NHL player from joining his new team.

It appears one of two federal governments is impeding what should have been a relatively simple transaction in the National Hockey League.

A report from Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports has revealed that despite being claimed on waivers over nine days ago, forward Alexander Burmistrov has been unable to join his new team due to government interference.

Morgan admits in his report that he is "naive" regarding what possibly could be holding up the process but the end result is the same, Burmistrov has been unable to join his new team, the Arizona Coyotes. 

Burmistrov reportedly has remained stranded in Vancouver since being placed on waivers, and no one seems to have any answers at the moment, a pretty crappy situation overall for the former first round draft pick.
