Breaking: Great news for Ducks defenseman!

The Anaheim Ducks have been dealing with a slew of injuries to begin the season - but they finally got some good news today.

Sami Vatanen has been out since last season's playoffs after sustaining a shoulder injury. His recovery process has been long and arduous - but he is finally making his return this afternoon against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Vatanen has been the subject of trade rumors since the 2017 NHL draft, but with the uncertainty of his return and high price tag, teams were hesitant to make a move. Given the depth of Anaheim's blue line, it's possible that teams will come calling again for the defenseman's services. 

There are several teams around the NHL in need of a defenseman of his calibre - including the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, and New York Rangers among several other teams.

It'll be an interesting situation to follow. 

Vatanen had a down year on the scoresheet last year, but he's nearly reached the 40-point mark in two consecutive seasons before the last, and could be a key component on most teams' blue lines.
