The Montreal Canadiens have placed top prospect Martin Reway on unconditional waivers, on Saturday. According to many NHL insiders and sources, the 22-year-old is looking to termination his contract with the Habs.
According to Eric Engels of Sportsnet, Reway could be looking for a way back home in Czech Republic. It was reported yesterday that he was taking some time off from the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League to reflect on his future with the club.
Reway has played five of the eight games with the Rocket this season, each time he was scratched was to avoid two games in two nights. He has two assists in the five games.
Reway, one of the Habs' most gifted prospect, missed all of last season with an undisclosed illness that reportedly was a problem that affected his heart.
