Breaking: Hall of Fame career threatened by serious allergy.

We have a shocking late night report in the National Hockey League.

According to Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman, the career of future Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Marian Hossa is now in jeopardy due to a serious allergic reaction suffered by the player.

From Friedman:

The sources who confirmed the allergy stressed not to make fun of it, with one saying, “It’s only funny to anyone who’s never had it.” Details are sketchy, because no one would give full information, but the medication necessary to combat the allergy is potent enough that doctors wanted his blood tested every few weeks to make sure there were no major side effects.

That’s very serious stuff, and word is doctors worried about Hossa taking the medicine for extended periods of time.

If that’s the case, it would be the end of a Hall of Fame career.

This would be a terrible way for Hossa's career to end, and furthermore could be devastating to the Chicago Blackhawks moving forward should he in fact be forced to retire from the game.

Hossa has played in a whopping 1309 career National Hockey League games, and over that stretch recorded an incredible 525 goals as well as 609 assists for 1134 career NHL points.
