Philadelphia Flyers general manager Ron Hextall confirmed that forward Nolan Patrick will not be loaned to Team Canada Junior for the World Junior Hockey Championship, as reported on Twitter by hockey insider Sam Carchidi earlier today.

Patrick, 19, was drafted second overall by the Flyers in the last NHL draft. He played 20 games with Philadelphia so far this season, scoring two goals and adding four assists for six total points.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native played three seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL), where he produced 240 points in 212 games played (regular season and playoffs included).

Many believed that participating to the World Junior Hockey Championship may be good for his confidence, but Hextall decided otherwise.

What do you think, Flyers fans? Do you think this is the right call?
