The 2017 National Hockey League regular season is already well underway but NHL superstar Erik Karlsson has yet to play in a single game for his Ottawa Senators.
Karlsson has been recovering from an ankle injury that limited him during the entire post season, and perhaps his decision to play through it has also led to the need for such a long recovery.
There is good news however as Senators insider Brucie Garrioch has just reported that Karlsson is expected to play sometime next week, and Garrioch's source for the information is none other than head coach Guy Boucher.
Boucher even added that a return as early as Tuesday wasn't outside of the realm of possibility but he would not commit to specific timetable, and considering how valuable Karlsson is to the organization it's understandable that they want to be extra cautious.
Despite that, this is tremendous news for the Sens and their fan base.
